Positions Available

Farm Worker

The Farm Worker position will undertake activities planting, tending, and harvesting vegetables both indoors and out. You will undertake typical vegetable field work including seeding, weeding, amending the soil, and using mechanised equipment such as a rototiller, seeder, cultivator, etc.

Some work with animals will be needed; including feeding broilers chicks and chickens and collecting eggs and moving laying hens. Work will be undertaken in all weathers, rain or shine.

Base hours would be 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday (40 hours/week) but some overtime and/or Saturday work may be required due to seasonal requirements.

Start date is May 1st and the season will run until late October.

Pay would be $15/hour plus a weekly veggie share


The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

You will have a willingness to work hard outdoors in all weather

Some understanding and knowledge about growing or farming would be considered an asset; however task specific training will be given

A desire to learn about vegetable growing and/or organic farming

Must be physically fit (able to squat, kneel, etc) and able to lift heavy objects (up to 40lbs) repeatedly.

Previous experience with outdoor physical labour

Ability to work independently to complete tasks

A valid G drivers license would be an asset but is not essential

This job is part of a summer job program, therefore to be eligible candidates must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee; and be legally entitled to work in Canada.


The farm is located on Brant Waterloo Road, near Ayr, ON (15 minutes from Cambridge, ON).
